Behind the sound
Hi, I'm Jesse.

Open to game audio opportunities
I'm a 25-year-old game audio designer from Helsinki, Finland. I've been making sounds and music for about six years, starting out in FL Studio as a hobby and gradually discovering a passion I want to build my career around. I love experimenting with sound, creating music and building atmospheres that bring game worlds to life.
I got my first proper taste of game development while studying at Laajasalon Opisto, where I spent a year learning the fundamentals of making games. I worked with Unity, Blender, Reaper, programming and graphic design, and got to see how all these different skills come together. I enjoyed exploring them, but audio was where I found my place.
For me, sound design is about more than finding the right effect in a library. I love creating sounds from scratch and transforming ordinary things into something unexpected. I've recorded everyday objects and manipulated them into hits, impacts, swooshes, death sounds and other effects, then shaped and mixed them to fit the world and the gameplay.
During my studies, I created audio for most of the games I worked on, including sound effects and musical themes. There's something incredibly rewarding about hearing a sound I've made change the mood of a scene or make an interaction feel more satisfying. That feeling is a big part of what drives me: I want to keep exploring what sound and music can make players feel, even when they don't consciously notice why.
I'm a social person and a strong team player. In every role I've had, people have given me positive feedback about the way I work with others. I enjoy sharing ideas, listening to different perspectives and helping a team find the best way forward. I believe great game audio comes from close collaboration with the people creating the game.
Swedish is my native language, and I'm fluent in Finnish and English. I also speak Spanish, which I developed further during a semester as an exchange student at a local school in Argentina while I was in high school. Experiencing everyday life in another culture made me curious about people and the different ways we see the world.
Outside of game audio, I'm passionate about electronic music, which is also a big source of inspiration for my sound design. I also love playing disc golf and skiing. Whether I'm experimenting with sounds, making music or spending time with other people, I'm happiest when I'm curious, active and learning something new.
I'm now looking for an opportunity to bring my passion for music and sound design into the game industry, keep learning and create alongside people who are just as excited about making great games as I am. I want to keep experimenting, keep improving and make audio that players remember — even if they don't realize it was the sound that made the moment work.
Recording, experimenting, layering. I turn a spark of an idea into sound that belongs in the game.
